The PianoGato Composer software provides a flexible platform for creating and reviewing piano compositions across various locations and times. It allows users to input musical ideas using standard notation on a staff, modify playback parameters, and listen to individual pieces or curated playlists.

Designed for diverse user groups, PianoGato Composer caters to:

<li>Professional and amateur musicians seeking portable composition and playback capabilities;</li>
<li>Music students engaged in learning composition techniques and notation;</li>
<li>Pianists of all skill levels preparing for new pieces, requiring full or partial playback;</li>
<li>Individuals studying music symbols and their performance on the piano.</li>
</ul>

The application is initially available as a Basic Version featuring essential composition functions. Users can upgrade within the app by purchasing the Composer Extras Package to access the full suite of tools.

The Basic Version offers core features including:
<ul>
<li>Default time signature of 4/4;</li>
<li>Key signature set to C Major;</li>
<li>Tempo set at Allegro (120 bpm);</li>
<li>Note durations ranging from breve to semi-quaver;</li>
<li>Accidentals such as sharp, flat, natural, double sharp, and double flat;</li>
<li>Support for up to four distinct voices or parts;</li>
<li>Rendering for playback of compositions;</li>
<li>Options to share rendered pieces with peers;</li>
<li>Export capabilities as Lilypond source files for PDF and MIDI generation;</li>
<li>Playlist management for sequential playback; and</li>
<li>Editing metadata including composer, song title, and version.</li>
</ul>

The Composer Extras Package extends functionality with advanced notation and playback features such as:
<ul>
<li>Configurable key and time signatures;</li>
<li>Support for note durations as short as 128th notes (semihemidemisemiquavers);</li>
<li>Dotted notes, ties, slurs, and pedal effects;</li>
<li>Dynamics, grace notes, articulations, ornaments, accidentals within ornaments, tuplets, arpeggios, glissandos, octave shifts, tremolos, pickup measures, tempo variations, and signature changes;</li>
<li>Repeat sections and coda markings;</li>
<li>Adjustable velocity parameters for expressive playback; and</li>
<li>Velocity balancing across multiple voices.</li>
</ul>

For users interested in purchasing multiple licenses of PianoGato Composer with full features included—via the Composer Extras Package—it is recommended to consider the PianoGato P2 application. P2 includes the extras package pre-installed and supports volume licensing options through Apple's Volume Purchase Program, subject to eligibility criteria.
